Sanction Matches with HCKOC

Looking to get a feel for the obedience ring before stepping into an official show? HCKOC recently wrapped up a series of CKC sanction matches at our own Training Building — and it was a great day for dogs and handlers across all experience levels.
A sanctioned match runs just like a real CKC conformation show, same classes, same ring procedure, same judging format. But scores don't count toward titles. That makes it the perfect opportunity to shake out the nerves, see how your dog handles the competition environment, and identify what still needs work, all without anything officially on the line.
Holding the series right here at the HCKOC Training Building was a bonus — familiar surroundings go a long way toward keeping dogs comfortable and focused. And judging the event was none other than our own Shawn Hoss, who brought a supportive, encouraging presence to the ring. Having a friendly judge who knows this community made the whole experience feel welcoming and educational for all involved. Thank you, Shawn!
Whether you're just starting out or prepping for your next title run, a sanctioned match is one of the best tools in your training toolkit. Come out, run your dog, and enjoy the experience — that's what it's all about.
